Join local guide Eva Åkerstedt for a spring walk on Penåsa Alvar and discover Öland’s early-season landscape and its unique natural and cultural heritage.
On April 26 at 2:00 PM, we gather at the Penåsa rest area parking lot in Kastlösa for a guided walk through the early spring landscape. The route takes us across the open alvar as we explore plant life, human impact, and the geology that shapes the island.
Eva Åkerstedt provides insights into the flora, Öland’s geological foundation, and the World Heritage Site of Southern Öland. Learn how early-season plants survive and how people have left their mark on the land through centuries.
The walk costs 240 SEK per person. Children under 18 join free. The event is cancelled if fewer than 5 participants are registered.
