Engage in a hands-on pottery experience at Clay's workshop in Hjo. This 2.5-hour session offers an introduction to the art of wheel throwing and hand-building techniques.
Begin with a demonstration by an experienced instructor, who will guide you through the process of creating a bowl on the pottery wheel. Following this, participants take turns at the wheels, receiving personalized assistance as needed. You'll have the opportunity to craft 2–3 pieces during the session, with options to add handles, decorate, or explore free-form building at the worktable. If you have a personal project in mind, the instructors are ready to help bring your ideas to life.
The workshop accommodates up to five participants simultaneously, ensuring ample support and guidance. Once your creations are complete, they will be glazed and fired by the staff. The finished pieces are typically ready for collection in 3–4 weeks, with shipping available for an additional fee.

Children aged 4–12 are welcome; under 4 years can attend free with a paying adult.

Nestled in the lush city park of charming Hjo, you’ll find Clay Pottery Studio – a vibrant place filled with creativity, community, and inspiration. Since the summer of 2021, our studio has been located in a beautiful old warehouse, offering courses, a workshop, a shop, and a café all under one roof.
Here, you’ll be greeted by the aroma of coffee, the hum of the pottery wheel, and a joyful mix of people creating, laughing, and exploring the possibilities of clay. We welcome groups and host workshops year-round – there’s always something fun happening at Clay!
In our shop, you’ll find my own handcrafted ceramics alongside selected art and handmade pieces from other local creators. Feel free to relax in our cozy self-serve café bar, where you can enjoy a fika in an inspiring setting.
