Enjoy a creative hour at the wheel followed by a tasty meal nearby. Try throwing a bowl or cup in a relaxed setting, then head to a local restaurant for a well-earned lunch or dinner.
Join us at Magasinet in Hjo for a fun and relaxed pottery session followed by a meal at one of our local partner restaurants. This one-hour experience lets you and your friends or family try out wheel throwing—no pressure, just good times.
Each participant gets to make a bowl or cup with help from our instructors, ensuring everyone can join in regardless of experience. After your hands-on time at the wheel, head over to the nearby Biergarten or Bryggan for a pre-booked meal. Choose between meat, fish, or vegetarian dishes directly from the restaurant menu.
We host up to five potters at a time, and larger groups can be accommodated with advance booking. Your creations will be glazed and fired by our team and ready to collect in about four weeks (or sent for a shipping fee).

Children up to 12 are welcome; under 4 years join free and can play with clay at the table (no meal included).
The total pottery part takes about 1 hour.
Afterwards, walk to the nearby restaurant for your pre-arranged meal.

Clay Pottery Studio
Nestled in the lush city park of charming Hjo, you’ll find Clay Pottery Studio – a vibrant place filled with creativity, community, and inspiration. Since the summer of 2021, our studio has been located in a beautiful old warehouse, offering courses, a workshop, a shop, and a café all under one roof.
Here, you’ll be greeted by the aroma of coffee, the hum of the pottery wheel, and a joyful mix of people creating, laughing, and exploring the possibilities of clay. We welcome groups and host workshops year-round – there’s always something fun happening at Clay!
In our shop, you’ll find my own handcrafted ceramics alongside selected art and handmade pieces from other local creators. Feel free to relax in our cozy self-serve café bar, where you can enjoy a fika in an inspiring setting.
During the summer months, we’re open daily. The rest of the year, our opening hours vary – check our website or social media for current information.
